May 16, 2004 - 9:36 p.m. - Saw you in the dark.... It's been a good weekend on many counts. I really cannot complain. First on Friday, my boss decided to give all of us (I think all the support staff) $1000 bonus. Amazing shock and bewilderment spread across my face when I noticed the additional amount of money in my ailing bank account. I thought it was either a raise (which I knew was highly unlikely) or severance pay. It was just a bonus, unexpected windfall of money and I was more than perplexed about it. Tax took up about $350 leaving me with $650 which was still sizeable, I can't complain it's somewhat free money and I am just buzzed about it even if it were $20, no worries. My attorney and I went out to Friday drinks, of cos with the windfall excitement and alcohol was highly on the menu. It was a good way to cap off the lid on the week. This was after we had spent the afternoon viewing some apartments within the downtown area. Something about looking at over-priced somewhat lacking apartments that just gives you a better appreciation of your own. Hmmm.... I decided this time to get the camera I have been longing for since Xmas when I got the Xmas bonus but instead used it to pay off my credit card bills, bills that are still the same since then more or less. I am somewhat excited about it. I got the Canon Rebel Ti I don't know much about cameras but I know the longing feeling of owning one has finally been quenched. I see a vacation or a trip to some beautiful locale in my future. Somewhere I can take nice pictures and not seem out of place taking them from my apartment window. Hopefully, I won't touch the money again as I plan to use it to get some rugs for my apartment (new or old I am still deciding) and a bigger screen size TV. The apartment I am interested in has a loft and a sunroom that leaves room for anything to be done on the roof, mostly a movie room and an aerobics without qualms centre. I didn't go to church and hopefully God won't hold that against me. *I am still sorry* I am just proud of the blessings He gave me this week. If you don't know much about praying for miracles know this, they do come true. This is the time of the year when I need to do a lot with money. I need to renew my Tags, my renter's insurance, and my car insurance. And with this eminent apartment move I may need to put down a sizeable deposit on several things, application fee, tenants fees (anything they can call anything) so it helps that I have money from somewhere else to do all these. So it was a good weekend, I have no complaints at all, just chilling like a happy villainess. Grrrrrr! aphie's chronicles - aphie's transcripts
