2001-08-26 - 12:41 p.m. - A solemn word for Aaliyah

Sad Sad News...

Aaliyah's death hit a sore spot. I don't know her, never met her, but I likened her as being someone who has a good head on her shoulders, is very humble, and very grounded and in touch with emotions that most mega stars lose sight of...it feels so bad to speak of her in the past tense and to see her movies and hear about her and know that she will never be able to attain those goals we imagined she would do so immensely, she would never be able to touch the sky to cross boudaries and to be beyond what most artists only dream of, why? Because death cut her short, it reached deep down and snuffed away her life at the time she needed it most.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends, and to her soul that it does find eternal rest and that she not miss the lives she left behind here on earth.

Aaliyah Haughton: RIP.

"Sometimes, when it's just my mom and me kicking it, I say, 'I'm 22, and I've accomplished so much.' I just know I have to appreciate every moment."
