It’s kind of nice to have a secret that people can feel they discovered for themselves. Sometimes when things you love get really commercial, you end up feeling betrayed by it.
---Gwyneth Paltrow said this in Interview Magazine.

Don't you just hate it when something you love suddenly turns commercial?

I am not quite sure I like the new Internet and media hype surrounding Gavin. Where were these people early 2004 when search engines didn’t know who he was. I feel...violated almost. Like he was this rare gem that I found and I was glad he was low-key and I didn't have to share him with every fan who thinks he is "awesome" or "amazing" or "so hot" and has decided to dedicate a site to show how "truly awesome" he is, with his "amazing talent". I just didn't want it to be so commercial. Fans thinking you're awesome doesn't always translate to record sales. It just gives you a bandwagon effect, somewhat lacking of authenticity.
It's great for record sales, but sometimes it doesn't help people stop to appreciate the music, and as soon as it starts it so easily quenches.

Like the wonderful feeling of discovery that comes over you when you watch an indie flick. It feels fresh and unique and non-commercial, and you can cherish it for yourself and it has a small cult following which includes you. But now, Gavin's music is filled with all the teenagers all across the world who feel like expressing just how "awesome" he is!

The same thing happened to my BSB phase, and they all fell by the roadside, even though they all reappeared for the concert. I feel that way about Keanu. Our following, is small and lowkey and not filled with obsessive teenagers. During the Matrix phase there were a few housewives, and they got a little rowdy and unbearable for me, but I got through it, and they've all kinda gone back to loving George Clooney.

I don't know I just feel like aaargh! who are these people, on his website, on MySpace, on his messageboard. Aaargh! who are these people, and why am I upset?

School starts next week, so I don't have to obsess about silly things too much longer, I apologize. BTW work has been "awesome." Thanks for a kickass week.
